THERE ARE ABOUT 10,000 MILES SEPARATING my hometown San Francisco and Zimba, Zamba. We will be departing tomorrow (Friday, August 15) at 10:30 p.m. and arriving in Washington D.C the next morning at 6:53 a.m. Have about four hours of lay-over then get on the Ethiopian Airlines flight ET (guess it’s a good time to phone home before that flight 😀 ) 0501, fly across the Atlantic, land in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, Sunday morning at 6:45 a.m. Next we will depart Ethiopia on ET 0871, arriving to Lubumbashi, Democratic Republic of Congo at 1:20 p.m. Last flight is on ET 0871 only flying a short distance across the national border from D.M Congo to Ndola, Zambia. 2:45 p.m., touch down!
I always have the feeling that traveling outbound from home takes much longer than the return trip. On paper this will be a long journey, having the team as companions makes the distance much shorter.

The San Francisco Bay Area compared with the area In Zambia where we will be leaving many footprints. | Zimbia the village is so small it’s not shown even on the closest zoom-in. The village is located near Mufulira. The team is staying at Kachele Farm . 20 minutes drive-time from Luanshya. We are landing and departing at Ndola.
